Good security, minor app glitches

I got the Personal plan for secure cloud storage and it's been pretty good overall. The Zero-Knowledge Cloud Storage is a big plus for me, and setting up the Mobile App for iOS was straightforward enough. I've had a couple of small issues with the app sometimes taking a bit to sync, especially after a larger upload, but nothing that stopped me from getting my work done. Delivery was instant, obviously, it's a digital service. Customer service was quick to reply when I asked about a feature, which was nice.

Consistent Secure Sharing

This is my third year with Tresorit, and the Secure File Sharing is always reliable. I originally started with the Solo plan and upgraded to Business. The End-to-End Encryption has been consistently strong across all my uses, whether it's for sensitive documents or just sharing large files with clients. They keep adding useful features, which is why I stick with them.

Professional Plan is Perfect!

I just switched to the Professional plan and it's fantastic! The secure e-signatures feature is so useful for my workflow. Everything feels incredibly secure and the Desktop App for Windows works flawlessly. Will definitely be recommending Tresorit to all my colleagues!

Can you actually trust the 'zero-knowledge' claim? Like, is it really impossible for anyone at Tresorit to see your stuff?

M Megan S. 3 months ago
That's their whole deal, right? From what I've read and understood, their encryption architecture means they literally don't have the keys to your files. It's why I picked them.

It's about as trustworthy as it gets in cloud storage. The way they do end-to-end encryption means the decryption happens on your device, not theirs.

Thinking of switching from Dropbox, is Tresorit actually worth the extra cost for a personal user?

A Anna 2 months ago
Yeah, if security and privacy are your main thing, it's a huge step up. Dropbox is convenient but Tresorit's zero-knowledge stuff means they literally can't see your files.

For just personal use, it depends on your needs. I switched for work docs that had sensitive info, but for general stuff, Dropbox might be fine. Tresorit's really good though, I trust it more.

Anyone know if they still do the 20% off for annual plans? Trying to decide between monthly or yearly for the Solo plan.

P Paula Nguyen 2 months ago
Pretty sure they do, I signed up for the Pro plan annually a few months ago and got a decent chunk off. Worth it.

Yeah, afaik the annual discount is standard. It's usually better than paying monthly, just double-check before you commit.

What's the deal with payment options? Only credit cards or can you use PayPal or something?

S Sophie Kim 3 months ago
I paid with a credit card, I think that's the main way. Not sure about PayPal, I didn't see it when I signed up.

Mostly cards I think. They're more business-focused so they might have other options for enterprise accounts, but for personal, it's usually cards.

I'm a student, do they have any kind of discount for us? Trying to save some cash.

K Kate G. 3 months ago
I remember seeing something about a student discount. Check their site, it might be in the FAQ or you might need to email them.

They do! My friend got one for his uni work, you usually have to verify your student status somehow. Worth looking into.
